Mr. David Benjamin attended Odessa-Montour Central School then served in the United States Navy for a total of twelve years. Afterward, he began a career as a photographer for Cornell University’s Public Relations department until eventually pursuing a career in education, beginning at Corning Community College, and eventually completing his undergraduate and graduate work at Elmira College earning his Bachelor of Science (+30) in Secondary Education (English). Mr. Benjamin’s professional English language arts teaching career began in 2002 at Bradford Central School (Bradford NY) where he taught grades seven, eight, ten and twelve. In the fall of 2003, he joined the faculty of Elmira City School District at Broadway Middle School where he taught seventh and eighth grades until finally coming to teach at Notre Dame High School in 2014.
Dave lives in Elmira and is married to Jill (Worden) Benjamin, an English teacher working ECSD. His daughter, Carlyle, is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta. His step daughter, Luci Olthof ‘17, is attending Buffalo University.
