Dr. Paul Ogutu was born and raised in Kenya for 25 years, before moving to the US in 2010. He attended Kenyatta University and graduated with a First Class Honors Bachelor Education Science [Chemistry and Education Major, and Math Minor]. He was a tutor and teacher for high school math and chemistry for 7 years, teaching both IB and British IGCSE curriculum. He attended Binghamton University for graduate school and graduated with a Ph.D. in Chemistry in December 2015. At Binghamton University he was awarded: Lois D. Mackey Award for the outstanding first-year teaching assistant in general chemistry [Spring 2011] and Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Teaching [Spring 2016]. He obtained 5 publications in major chemistry journals during his graduate career. Dr. Ogutu teaches AP-Chemistry, Principle of Chemistry, Pre-Calculus Honors and Regular. Dr. Ogutu is excited to contribute his skills, knowledge, and experience to shape the life and dreams of students at Notre Dame School. Besides teaching, Dr. Ogutu loves gospel music, hiking, traveling and reading Christian literature.
