Susan Tanner is delighted to be the Library Media Specialist at Notre Dame! She has been in education since 1981, when she started with the Elmira City School District as a Vocal and General Music Teacher. During her tenure in the Elmira District, she completed her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science and later moved on to work for SCT BOCES (now GST BOCES), where she was an Instructional Technology Specialist and then a Library Automation Specialist for the School Library System. Mrs. Tanner retired from BOCES in 2015 specifically to take the job of librarian at Notre Dame and says it was the best decision she ever made. In addition to her library duties, Mrs. Tanner teachers Public Speaking and Technology 7 and 8.

In her spare time, she is active with local theatre organizations, especially Elmira Little Theatre. She resides in Pine City with her husband, Bill, and five cats.
